As a Bridge Year Intern, you will take on the responsibilities of both a medical assistant and a scribe, working closely with MDs and PAs during patient visits and assisting with clinical documentation and patient care. You will gain first-hand exposure to medical procedures by assisting with a range of dermatologic and cosmetic treatments. You will also shadow healthcare professionals across various specialties, gaining insight into both patient interactions and clinical decision-making.
In addition to the clinical experience, you will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research projects, with the potential to co-author publications or present findings at conferences. This role also offers a behind-the-scenes look at how a high-performing medical office operates, including patient flow, scheduling, insurance coordination, marketing and EMR systems — skills that will serve you well in any future healthcare setting.
Over the last year, our previous intern published a research paper as the first author and received acceptances to several exceptional medical school programs, such as UC Riverside, Case Western Reserve University and UC Irvine.
We are seeking motivated, high-achieving pre-medical students in their gap year before applying to medical school for the 2027 application cycle. This unique, full-time, paid internship offers immersive, hands-on experience in both dermatology and plastic surgery, helping you build a competitive application while developing practical skills and meaningful mentorships.
